Loewe Klang Bar 5 MR and Sub 5 Soundbar System

The Loewe Klang Bar 5 MR and Sub 5 is the flagship soundbar and wireless subwoofer package in Loewe’s Klang audio range. Delivering 5.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos and DTS:X sound from a combined 800W of total system power, the package pairs an 11-driver soundbar with a circular wireless subwoofer to create an immersive home cinema system without the complexity of separate surround speakers.

Soundbar — Klang Bar 5 MR

The Klang Bar 5 MR houses 11 drivers in a 120 cm aluminium enclosure. Four full-range drivers and three tweeters handle front left, centre, and right channels, while side-mounted rear channels provide surround information. Two upward-firing drivers deliver the height channels required for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-based audio, creating a three-dimensional soundstage from a single bar. Total music power from the soundbar alone is 440W, with a frequency response of 60 Hz – 20 kHz.

Subwoofer — Klang Sub 5

The Klang Sub 5 uses a distinctive circular design housing two active 6-inch drivers and four passive radiators arranged around its circumference. This configuration produces non-directional bass output regardless of placement in the room. The subwoofer connects wirelessly to the soundbar and delivers 360W of total music power across a frequency range of 35 Hz – 150 Hz.

Connectivity and Streaming

Physical connections on the bar include three HDMI inputs with 4K passthrough, one HDMI eARC output, an optical digital audio input, a 3.5 mm AUX input, and a powered USB port. The Sub 5 also carries its own 3.5 mm stereo jack for wired connection if needed.

For wireless streaming, the Klang Bar 5 MR supports AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, DTS Play-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2. Built-in access to Spotify, Tidal, Amazon Music, Deezer, Qobuz, and other services is available through the DTS Play-Fi and Chromecast platforms.

Multiroom Expansion

The “MR” designation indicates multiroom capability via Loewe’s Wireless Digital Audio Link 2.0. The system can be expanded wirelessly with additional Loewe Klang MR speakers (MR1, MR3, or MR5) to create a full 7.1.2 surround sound configuration with minimal latency.
