The KEF Ventura 6 is the flagship of KEF's three-model Ventura outdoor speaker range, positioned above the Ventura 5 and the entry-level Ventura 4. Where many outdoor speakers sacrifice audio quality to achieve weather resistance, the Ventura series applies KEF's loudspeaker engineering to an IP65-rated design built for permanent outdoor installation. The Ventura 6 steps up to a 160mm (6.5″) woofer and 125W power handling, suited to medium-to-large outdoor listening areas including patios, pool surrounds, and marine environments.
Construction and Weatherproofing
The Ventura 6 uses a sealed enclosure with weatherproof construction at every point. The grille and mounting bracket are aluminium; all fasteners use stainless steel and brass to resist corrosion under sustained outdoor exposure. KEF subjected the Ventura 6 to over 1,200 hours of salt spray testing — a marine-grade endurance standard — and the speaker carries independent laboratory IP65 certification, confirming complete protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction.
The operating temperature range spans −40 to +70°C (−40 to +158°F), allowing permanent installation in climates from Scandinavian winters to Middle Eastern summers. The KEF logo on the grille rotates independently so it always reads correctly regardless of speaker orientation.
Driver Technology
A 25mm fluid-cooled aluminium dome tweeter handles high frequencies. The 160mm (6.5″) woofer extends bass response to 54Hz (±6dB), crossed over to the tweeter at 3kHz. Sensitivity of 90dB at 2.83V/1m and a 6Ω nominal impedance allow the Ventura 6 to work with a wide range of outdoor-rated amplifiers in the 10–125W range.
Mounting and Installation
The included aluminium mounting bracket allows precise aiming after installation. Quarter-inch (¼″-20) threaded inserts on the enclosure accept aftermarket mounting hardware for custom installation configurations. The Ventura 6 is available in Black and White finishes.
