KEF T301 Satellite Speakers (Pair)

The KEF T301 sits at the top of KEF's T Series satellite range, designed to deliver genuine high fidelity audio from an enclosure just 35mm deep. Where the smaller T101 uses a single 120mm midrange driver, the T301 doubles up with two 115mm (4.5in.) dual-layer midrange/bass units paired with a 25mm (1in.) vented aluminium tweeter in a two and a half-way closed box configuration. The result is a speaker that can be wall-mounted flush beside a flat-screen television or placed freestanding on the included desk stands, without compromising on dynamic range or spatial presentation.

Twin Layered MF Driver Technology

At the heart of the T301 is KEF's Twin Layered MF Driver, a patented design that achieves a drive unit depth of just 27mm while delivering the performance of a conventional driver several times its size. The radiating diaphragm is a moulded cone with integral stiffening ribs running both radially and circumferentially, backed by a thin layer of high-modulus material that provides additional rigidity. This twin-layer structure ensures pistonic motion across the full working frequency band, minimising distortion while occupying a fraction of the depth of a traditional driver. The concentric Z-Flex surround further reduces the build height by using a flat-profile suspension with carefully designed undulations that prevent resonances while maintaining high excursion capability.

Vented Aluminium Tweeter

The 25mm vented aluminium tweeter extends response to 30kHz, well beyond the audible range. The vented design allows air to flow through the voice coil gap, reducing back-pressure and improving high-frequency linearity. Combined with KEF's Tangerine Waveguide, which controls dispersion at the crossover point between the tweeter and midrange drivers, the T301 produces a wide, even soundstage that fills the room regardless of listening position.

Installation Flexibility

The T301 includes both a metal desk stand for freestanding placement and a flat wall-mount bracket with gravity-fed keyhole slots. The speaker can be oriented vertically or horizontally, and the mounting system accommodates both configurations without additional hardware. Wire connections use recessed Allen bolt terminals to maintain the ultra-slim profile, with a 2mm hex key included for secure cable attachment. Rated at 88dB sensitivity with an 8 Ohm impedance, the T301 is compatible with amplifiers from 10W to 150W, making it suitable for both dedicated home cinema receivers and compact stereo amplifiers.
