The KEF RNC160R is a steel rear enclosure designed to accompany KEF 160mm round Ci Series in-ceiling and in-wall speakers. Fitting a dedicated rear enclosure is strongly recommended whenever a speaker is installed into a ceiling or wall, as it isolates the driver from the open cavity space that would otherwise negatively affect bass response and sound quality.
The enclosure is fitted from below once the ceiling is in place and the speaker has been installed. It provides acoustic isolation and structural support, and in many building regulations contexts also serves as a fire-protection measure by sealing the speaker opening in the ceiling void.
The RNC160R is compatible with KEF's range of 160mm round Ci-series in-ceiling and in-wall speakers, including the Ci160QR, Ci160CR, Ci160TR and Ci160.2QR.
