The KEF Reference 3 Grille Pack is the genuine accessory for owners of the KEF Reference 3 Meta floorstanding speakers. Sold as a complete set for a stereo pair, the pack contains six individual circular cloth grilles - three for each speaker - which attach magnetically to cover the three driver positions on the front baffle.
The Reference 3 Meta features a three-way driver configuration: a 25mm aluminium dome tweeter (part of the coaxial Uni-Q array), a 125mm midrange cone, and two 165mm bass cones. Each driver position has its own matching circular cloth grille that fits precisely over the aluminium baffle surround, providing protection from dust and accidental contact without compromising the cabinet aesthetics.
The grilles are made from a fine black acoustic cloth stretched over a rigid circular frame. The low-mass cloth material is acoustically transparent, meaning the Reference 3 Meta can be listened to with grilles fitted without any audible effect on high-frequency performance. For critical listening, KEF recommends removing the grilles, but for everyday use the grilles provide a cleaner visual appearance and protect the drivers.
Compatible with all finish variants of the KEF Reference 3 Meta, including Satin Walnut/Silver, High-Gloss Black/Copper, High-Gloss White/Champagne, White/Blue, and Black/Grey. Each grille is retained by a magnetic fixing system and can be removed and refitted easily without tools.
