The KEF Q750 is the intermediate floorstander in KEF’s Q Series, sitting between the compact Q550 and the flagship Q950. Built around KEF’s signature Uni-Q driver array, the Q750 adds a dedicated 165 mm aluminium bass driver and two matching auxiliary bass radiators to deliver powerful, controlled low-frequency performance with the wide, even dispersion that has become synonymous with the Uni-Q concept.
Uni-Q Driver Array
At the heart of the Q750 is KEF’s 165 mm (6.5″) Uni-Q driver, which places a 25 mm (1″) vented aluminium dome tweeter at the acoustic centre of the midrange cone. This coaxial arrangement means that high and mid frequencies radiate from the same point in space, producing a wide, uniform soundstage that remains consistent across a broad listening area. Refinements to the Q Series include a damped tweeter loading tube for improved high-frequency detail and a redesigned paper midrange cone.
Bass Performance
The Q750 employs a two-and-a-half-way bass reflex topology. A 165 mm (6.5″) hybrid aluminium low-frequency driver works alongside two 165 mm (6.5″) aluminium auxiliary bass radiators (ABRs), which replace a conventional port. The ABRs feature larger roll surrounds and new spiders for cleaner output at higher volumes. This arrangement extends the bass response down to 42 Hz (−6 dB), delivering a full-bodied low end with the controlled, articulate character that ABR loading provides.
Cabinet & Build
The Q750’s cabinet stands 923 mm tall (977 mm with the included plinth) and measures 210 mm wide by 306 mm deep. Each speaker weighs 16.5 kg. The closed-box midrange section isolates the Uni-Q driver from the bass chamber, reducing unwanted interaction between the low-frequency and midrange sections. A matching plinth provides both stability and a clean visual foundation.
