The KEF Q550 AV 5.0 Speaker Package brings together three models from KEF's acclaimed Q Series to deliver a complete surround sound system. The package comprises a pair of Q550 floorstanding speakers for the front channels, a Q250c centre channel speaker for dialogue, and a pair of Q150 bookshelf speakers for the rear surrounds.
All speakers in the package share KEF's signature Uni-Q driver array, which places the tweeter concentrically within the midrange cone. This coaxial arrangement acts as a single point source, producing a more uniform sound dispersion pattern throughout the listening area and ensuring consistent tonal character across all five channels.
Q550 Floorstanding Speakers (Front Pair)
The Q550 is a two-and-a-half-way bass reflex design featuring a 130mm (5.25") aluminium Uni-Q driver with a 25mm (1") vented aluminium dome tweeter, a dedicated 130mm (5.25") aluminium bass driver, and two 130mm (5.25") Auxiliary Bass Radiators (ABRs). The ABR design eliminates port noise while extending low-frequency output down to 45Hz (-6dB). Each Q550 stands 926mm tall (with plinth) and weighs 14.5kg.
Q250c Centre Channel Speaker
The Q250c is a sealed-box design with no rear port, allowing placement inside a cabinet without compromising performance. It uses a 130mm (5.25") aluminium Uni-Q driver with 25mm (1") vented aluminium dome tweeter, flanked by two 130mm (5.25") aluminium ABRs. Frequency response extends from 68Hz to 28kHz (±3dB).
Q150 Bookshelf Speakers (Rear Pair)
The Q150 is a two-way bass reflex bookshelf speaker featuring a 130mm (5.25") aluminium Uni-Q driver with 25mm (1") vented aluminium dome tweeter. Frequency response reaches 51Hz to 28kHz (±3dB), with a sensitivity of 86dB and 8 ohm nominal impedance. Each speaker measures 303 x 180 x 278mm and weighs 5.6kg.
