KEF LSX II Wireless Speakers Soundwave Edition (Pair)

The KEF LSX II is a compact, self-contained wireless speaker system that delivers high-resolution audio without the need for a separate amplifier or streamer. It sits between the more affordable LSX II LT and the larger LS50 Wireless II in KEF's wireless range, and shares the W2 wireless platform of the LS50 Wireless II in a smaller cabinet suited to desks, shelves and smaller listening rooms. The Soundwave by Terence Conran Edition is a special finish of the LSX II: the electronics, drivers and connectivity are identical to the standard LSX II.

Soundwave by Terence Conran Edition

The Soundwave Edition unites two of Britain's most celebrated design names. The Uni-Q drivers and rear port are finished in Conran's signature blue, while a 'soundwave' pattern is woven into the Kvadrat fabric that clads the cabinet, the same fabric from the Danish textile designer used on other LSX II finishes. The rear panel carries the Soundwave by Terence Conran signature alongside the credit for the LSX II's industrial designer, Michael Young.

Uni-Q Driver Array

Each speaker uses a version of KEF's 11th generation Uni-Q driver array designed specifically for the LSX II, placing a 19mm aluminium dome tweeter at the acoustic centre of a 115mm magnesium/aluminium alloy bass/midrange cone. This point-source arrangement eliminates the traditional narrow sweet spot and delivers an even, precisely imaged soundstage across the room. Both drivers are powered by their own dedicated Class D amplifier, 70W for the bass/midrange and 30W for the tweeter in each speaker, for a combined 200W of system power and a maximum output of 102dB. KEF's Music Integrity Engine, a suite of digital signal processing algorithms optimised for the Uni-Q driver, handles timing and tonal balance.

Wireless Streaming and Connectivity

The LSX II supports AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Roon Ready and UPnP, with Amazon Music, Qobuz, Deezer, internet radio and podcasts available through the KEF Connect app. Bluetooth 5.0 is included for direct pairing. For wired sources, the primary speaker offers HDMI ARC, TOSLINK optical, USB-C and 3.5mm analogue inputs, plus an Ethernet port for a wired network connection. An RCA subwoofer output allows a KEF subwoofer to be added, with subwoofer presets built into the Room EQ.

High-Resolution Audio Support

Source resolutions of up to 384kHz/24-bit are supported over the network, 96kHz/24-bit via optical and 192kHz/24-bit via USB-C. Supported formats include MQA, DSD, FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, AAC, WMA, MP3, M4A, LPCM and Ogg Vorbis. The two speakers connect to each other wirelessly, with all sources resampled to 48kHz/24-bit, or via the supplied interspeaker cable at 96kHz/24-bit.

KEF Connect App and Room EQ

The KEF Connect app walks through set-up and controls source selection, volume and playback. Its Room EQ offers a guided Normal mode and an Expert mode with Desk Mode, Wall Mode, Treble Trim, Phase Correction, Bass Extension and balance adjustments, so the system can be tuned to its position and the room. Home automation integration is supported for Elan, RTi, Crestron Home, Savant and Control4 systems. Mounting inserts on the cabinet allow secure placement on the KEF P1 desk pad, S1 floor stand or B1 wall bracket.
