The KEF LS50 Wireless II is a complete, self-contained wireless hi-fi system built around KEF's legendary LS50 monitor loudspeaker. Where the passive LS50 Meta requires a separate amplifier and streaming source, the LS50 Wireless II integrates everything inside the cabinets: a 760W total amplifier system, a 24-bit DAC with up to 384kHz network streaming capability, and KEF's W2 wireless platform supporting AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and more. The result is an audiophile-grade, all-in-one stereo system that connects directly to your music without compromise.
12th Generation Uni-Q Driver with MAT
The LS50 Wireless II uses the same 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array as the passive LS50 Meta. The 25mm vented aluminium dome tweeter sits concentrically within the 130mm aluminium mid-bass cone, creating a single acoustic source for a wide, coherent sweet spot throughout the room. Crucially, the tweeter is backed by Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), a maze-like structure that absorbs 99% of the unwanted rearward sound from the tweeter. Eliminating this colouration allows the driver to produce an exceptionally pure, natural treble.
Music Integrity Engine and Amplification
Each speaker contains two discrete amplifiers developed in-house by KEF. The HF tweeter is driven by a 100W Class A/B amplifier, while the mid-bass cone is powered by a 280W Class D amplifier, giving 380W per speaker and 760W total system power. Both amplifiers are controlled by KEF's Music Integrity Engine, a suite of bespoke DSP algorithms optimised for the Uni-Q driver to deliver precise timing, better imaging, and tighter bass.
Streaming and Connectivity
The LS50 Wireless II supports wireless streaming via AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Amazon Music, Qobuz, Deezer, and is Roon Ready and UPnP compatible. Bluetooth 5.0 is included for direct device connection. The primary speaker provides HDMI eARC (for direct TV connection), TOSLINK optical, digital coaxial, 3.5mm analogue auxiliary, and RJ45 Ethernet inputs. Network streaming supports files up to 384kHz/24bit, with MQA and DSD (DSD64 and DSD128) also supported. The two speakers connect wirelessly for convenience or via a Cat 6 cable for 192kHz/24bit interspeaker resolution. A subwoofer RCA output is also provided.
Design and Colours
The LS50 Wireless II cabinet mirrors the sculpted, low-diffraction curved baffle of the passive LS50, with colour-matched ports, drive unit surrounds, and heat sinks on the rear. It is available in Carbon Black, Mineral White, Sand Shell, and Moss Green matte finishes. The Carbon Black edition features an all-black treatment across every surface including the Uni-Q driver assembly. The speakers are compatible with KEF's S2 Floor Stand (sold separately) via integrated mounting inserts.
