The KEF KUBE 8b sits at the entry point of KEF’s Kube subwoofer range, which also includes the larger Kube 10b and Kube 12b. Despite its compact dimensions, the KUBE 8b delivers authoritative bass from a sealed cabinet design, making it a natural partner for KEF’s bookshelf and satellite speaker systems in rooms where space is at a premium.
iBX Intelligent Bass Extension
At the heart of the KUBE 8b is KEF’s iBX (Intelligent Bass Extension) algorithm, a proprietary DSP system that analyses the input signal in real time and makes continuous adjustments to unlock the full potential of the custom 8″ (200 mm) front-firing long-throw driver. The result is extended bass depth that remains dynamic at all listening levels, whether the subwoofer is running at low volume late at night or at full output during a film soundtrack.
Amplification & Cabinet
The built-in 300 W RMS Class D amplifier is designed specifically for the acoustic volume of the sealed enclosure. Class D topology keeps the amplifier running efficiently and cool, while the sealed cabinet eliminates port noise and allows the KUBE 8b to be placed inside furniture or tucked against a wall without compromising performance. Three DSP-controlled EQ presets allow fine-tuning to suit corner, wall, or open placement positions.
Connectivity
The rear panel provides LFE, line-level, and speaker-level inputs, covering every common connection scenario from a dedicated LFE output on an AV receiver to a stereo amplifier with no subwoofer output. Phase selection is included for time-alignment with the main speakers.
