Combining a 15-inch front-firing driver with a 300W RMS Class D amplifier, it extends the frequency response down to a remarkable 22Hz, reproducing the deepest bass notes in film soundtracks and music with precision and authority.
Music Integrity Engine
The Music Integrity Engine (MIE) is KEF's proprietary suite of DSP algorithms that optimises every aspect of the subwoofer's performance. Central to MIE is iBX Intelligent Bass Extension, which analyses the incoming signal in real time and applies corrective processing to maintain deep, accurate bass at any listening level. The result is consistent impact and extension whether the system is playing softly in the background or reproducing the full dynamic range of a blockbuster film.
15-Inch Long-Throw Driver
At the heart of the Kube 15 MIE is a 380mm (15-inch) front-firing drive unit with a large cone area and high-excursion suspension. The long-throw design maximises the volume of air displaced per cycle, unlocking higher output at lower frequencies without distortion. The sealed cabinet alignment provides tighter, more controlled bass compared with ported designs, making the Kube 15 MIE equally at home with music as with cinema soundtracks.
Versatile Connectivity and Placement
The Kube 15 MIE offers a comprehensive set of connection options, including RCA phono inputs, speaker-level inputs, and an LFE input with a variable low-pass filter adjustable between 40Hz and 140Hz. An expansion port accepts KEF's optional KW1 wireless adapter, allowing the subwoofer to be placed anywhere in the room without running a signal cable. Three room-position EQ presets (freestanding, against a wall, and corner placement) compensate for bass reinforcement from room boundaries.
Intelligent Power Management
The Kube 15 MIE supports three power modes: Auto Wake-Up, which detects an incoming audio signal and powers the unit on instantly; Always On, which keeps the amplifier in a ready state at all times; and 12V Trigger, which synchronises power-up with a compatible AV receiver or processor.
