Disappear Into Your Ceiling
The KEF Ci160.2CR is a round in-ceiling loudspeaker from the Ci-C Series, designed to deliver genuinely high-fidelity performance from a discreet architectural installation. At its heart sits KEF's patented Uni-Q driver array, which places a 16mm aluminium dome tweeter at the acoustic centre of the 160mm bass/midrange cone. This single-point-source configuration ensures that high and low frequencies radiate from exactly the same point in space, producing wide, even dispersion throughout the room and eliminating the frequency-dependent "sweet spot" that plagues conventional two-driver designs.
The ultra-thin bezel and flat magnetic grille are designed to sit flush with the ceiling surface, making the speaker almost invisible once installed. Both the grille and bezel are paintable, allowing them to blend seamlessly into your decor. A tangerine waveguide on the tweeter further smooths treble dispersion off-axis, so the sound remains consistent whether you are directly beneath the speaker or elsewhere in the room.
Weather-resistant treatment protects against humidity and moisture, making the Ci160.2CR suitable for bathrooms, conservatories, and other challenging environments. The exceptionally shallow mounting depth of just 84.5mm means it will fit where many rival in-ceiling speakers cannot, and the spring-clip fixing system makes installation straightforward without requiring access above the ceiling.
Installation Flexibility
The Ci160.2CR accepts amplifier power from 10 to 100 watts and presents a nominal 8-ohm load, making it compatible with a broad range of amplifiers and AV receivers. Optional accessories include the RIF160R rough-in frame for pre-wire installations and the RNC160R rear enclosure where an acoustically open ceiling void is not available.
