The LKV380PRO is an HDMI over powerline extender from Lenkeng that uses HDbitT technology to transmit 1080p HDMI signals up to 300 metres through existing mains wiring. This 2-zone kit ships with one transmitter and two receivers, allowing simultaneous HD distribution to two separate rooms without running any additional cables.
How It Works
The system modulates the HDMI signal onto the building’s existing power line circuit using HDbitT (HD video over Internet Protocol via Twisted pair) encoding. Each unit plugs directly into a mains socket — the transmitter connects to the HDMI source, and each receiver connects to a display. Automatic scan-and-pair operation means there is no network configuration: plug in, power on, and the units find each other.
Transmission & Signal
The LKV380PRO supports resolutions from 480i up to 1080p at 50 or 60 Hz, covering all standard-definition and high-definition broadcast formats. HDMI 1.3 and HDCP 1.2 compliance ensures compatibility with the majority of consumer sources and displays. The transmitter includes an HDMI loop-out port, so a local display can be connected at the source location alongside the two remote zones.
IR Pass-Back & Control
Each receiver includes an IR input that picks up remote control signals in the 20–60 kHz range and passes them back to the transmitter’s IR output, which re-emits them at the source device. This allows full control of the source — such as a Sky box, Blu-ray player, or games console — from any receiving room without line of sight to the original equipment.
Security & Scalability
AES encryption secures the signal on the power line, preventing interception from adjacent circuits. The LKV380PRO architecture supports up to four receivers on a single transmitter, so the system can be expanded beyond two zones by adding additional LKV380PRO receivers.
