The AudioQuest Tower sits within the Bridges & Falls range of analogue interconnects, positioned above the entry-level Evergreen and Golden Gate cables. Designed for connecting portable devices, smartphones, tablets, or laptop headphone outputs to amplifiers, powered speakers, or audio systems, the Tower uses engineering choices drawn from AudioQuest's higher-end cable designs to deliver cleaner signal transfer at an accessible price point.
Conductor & Dielectric
Tower uses Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) conductors rather than the stranded copper found in budget cables. Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion — the signal degradation that occurs when individual strands within a conductor make and break contact with each other. The result is a smoother, clearer signal path compared to cables using regular OFHC copper.
The insulation is Foamed Polyethylene (PE), chosen for its high air content. Because air is an almost perfect dielectric, the foamed structure causes significantly less of the out-of-focus effect common to solid plastic insulation materials, preserving signal clarity.
Noise Dissipation & Geometry
Rather than relying solely on traditional shielding that drains noise to ground, the Tower incorporates AudioQuest's Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation System. This absorbs and reflects most RF noise energy before it reaches the ground layer, preventing the ground-plane contamination that can muddy the audio signal.
The cable uses an Asymmetrical Double-Balanced geometry, specifically engineered for single-ended (unbalanced) applications. This configuration provides a relatively lower impedance on the ground path, delivering a richer and more dynamic presentation.
Termination
Both ends are fitted with cold-welded, gold-plated 3.5mm TRS connectors. The cold-welding process uses high pressure to join metals without solder, eliminating the signal degradation that solder joints can introduce. The ground shells are stamped rather than machined, a construction method that AudioQuest specifies for reduced distortion at the connector interface.
