The AudioQuest Forest 48 sits in the middle of AudioQuest's HDMI cable range, above the entry-level Pearl 48 and below the Carbon 48. All three share the same 48Gbps Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 certification, but the Forest 48 steps up with solid 0.5% silver-plated long-grain copper conductors — a construction AudioQuest uses to minimise strand-to-strand interaction and improve signal integrity over the solid long-grain copper used in the Pearl.
Construction & Noise Dissipation
All 19 conductors within the Forest 48 are direction-controlled, a technique AudioQuest applies across its cable range to reduce radio-frequency noise by managing the path of RF interference towards ground. The cable is classified as Level 1 in AudioQuest's noise-dissipation hierarchy, which controls the signal path, ground-reference drains, and control/power conductors to address the increasing RF background from wireless devices.
Performance & Compatibility
Certified Ultra High Speed by HDMI Licensing, the Forest 48 delivers the full 48Gbps bandwidth across four balanced audio/video pairs, each running at 12Gbps. This supports 8K/60Hz, 4K/120Hz, and up to 10K resolution, along with Dynamic HDR, eARC for uncompressed and lossless multichannel audio (including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DTS:X), and gaming features including VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), and QFT (Quick Frame Transport). The cable is fully backward-compatible with existing 4K HDMI devices.
Ideal For
Connecting 4K and 8K televisions, AV receivers, soundbars, projectors, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and gaming PCs where a certified 48Gbps link is required for the latest video and audio formats.
