The Audiolab 9000N sits at the summit of Audiolab’s streaming range as the flagship network music player and USB DAC within the 9000 series. The result of over three years’ development, it delivers critically stable, high-resolution digital music playback over both wireless and wired connections. It pairs naturally with the 9000A integrated amplifier, 9000P power amplifier, or 9000Q preamplifier to form a complete 9000 series system.
DAC Technology
At the heart of the 9000N is the ESS Sabre ES9038PRO — an eight-channel DAC chip representing the pinnacle of ESS Technology’s current Sabre range. It supports PCM audio up to 32-bit/768kHz resolution, native DSD decoding up to DSD512, and full MQA rendering, ensuring compatibility with virtually every high-resolution audio format available today.
Streaming & Connectivity
The 9000N provides access to all major streaming platforms through built-in support for Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, and Qobuz. It is fully Roon Ready, with Roon’s own streaming technology integrated directly into the hardware. Apple AirPlay 2 and UPnP are also supported for network playback from local libraries and compatible devices. Network connectivity is handled via dual-band Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
On the rear panel, a USB Type B input accepts a direct digital connection from a computer, functioning as a high-resolution USB DAC. A USB Type A port is provided for playback from USB storage devices. It is worth noting that the 9000N does not include Bluetooth, Chromecast, or coaxial/optical digital inputs — it is designed as a pure network and USB source component.
Outputs
Analogue outputs are provided in both balanced XLR and single-ended RCA formats, allowing direct connection to power amplifiers, preamplifiers, or integrated amplifiers with suitable inputs. Digital outputs include coaxial and optical (TOSLINK) connections for feeding an external DAC if preferred.
Display & Interface
The front panel features a 4.3-inch full-colour IPS LCD display capable of showing album artwork and VU meters during playback. The 9000N is controlled via the Audiolab app or through compatible control systems.
