Audiolab 8300MB Mono Power Amplifier Black

The Audiolab 8300MB is a monoblock power amplifier from the 8300 Series, delivering 250W into 8 ohms with a fully balanced, bridge-coupled topology. Internally the 8300MB is arranged as two complete power amplifier stages, each fed from one terminal of the balanced input and bridge-coupled to the loudspeaker outputs. This architecture provides inherently high noise rejection and low transient distortion, with the ability to draw maximum current from the power supply to follow the musical waveform accurately.

Balanced Architecture

The 8300MB operates as a fully balanced amplifier from input to speaker output. Two separate power amplification stages handle the positive and negative halves of the signal independently before being bridge-coupled at the speaker terminals. This design doubles the voltage swing available to the loudspeaker, delivering 250W into 8 ohms, 350W into 4 ohms, and rising further into lower impedances for demanding loudspeaker loads.

High Current Drive

Massive reserves of current are available to power and control even the most demanding loudspeakers. The 8300MB delivers its full rated power unconditionally into any loudspeaker load, with a damping factor of 200 providing tight grip over driver excursion. A large toroidal transformer supplies the energy storage needed for dynamic peaks without compression.

Connectivity

The 8300MB accepts both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, making it compatible with any preamplifier or DAC. The balanced XLR connection is preferred to take full advantage of the bridge-coupled topology. A 12V trigger input and pass-through allows the 8300MB to be powered on and off automatically as part of a larger system — particularly useful when running a pair of monoblocks from a single preamplifier trigger output.

System Integration

As a single-channel power amplifier, the 8300MB is most commonly used in pairs for stereo operation. It also supports bi-amping and tri-amping configurations for speakers with multiple binding post pairs.
