Two-Channel Amplification Redefined
The Anthem STR Integrated Amplifier represents the pinnacle of Anthem's two-channel engineering, combining the benefits of a high-resolution preamplifier, massive power amplifier, advanced DAC, MM/MC phono stage and ARC Genesis room correction into a single, beautifully crafted component. Designed, engineered and hand-built in Canada, the STR Integrated is available in Black or Silver to suit any listening room.
Massive Power, Effortless Dynamics
At the heart of the STR Integrated is a conservatively rated power supply built around a bespoke toroidal transformer, engineered in-house at Anthem. The amplifier delivers 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms, rising to an extraordinary 550 watts per channel continuously into 2 ohms. Multiple bipolar output devices dramatically reduce distortion while ensuring extreme linearity and bandwidth, making the STR Integrated equally at home with demanding, low-impedance loudspeaker loads. Anthem's proprietary Advanced Load Monitoring (ALM) circuitry protects the output section by continuously monitoring temperature, current and voltage, operating outside the signal path so it never touches the sound.
High-Resolution DAC and Digital Inputs
The STR Integrated includes a 32-bit DAC section with support for asynchronous USB up to 32-bit/384 kHz PCM and DSD 5.6 MHz from Windows or Mac computers. Two optical and two coaxial digital inputs cater for sources such as CD transports, streamers and set-top boxes, while all digital inputs can be upsampled to 192 kHz/32-bit for enhanced clarity. An Analogue Direct bypass mode routes analogue sources through the shortest possible path, eliminating auxiliary circuits for the most transparent performance.
MM and MC Phono Stage
Acknowledging the enduring appeal of vinyl, Anthem has incorporated separate inputs for both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges. The phono section is fully shielded from the surrounding circuitry, preserving signal purity and allowing the STR Integrated to reveal the full character of classic recordings with natural transparency and refinement.
ARC Genesis Room Correction
Anthem Room Correction (ARC) Genesis is a proprietary digital signal processing system developed in conjunction with the National Research Council of Canada. Using the supplied measurement microphone, ARC Genesis analyses the acoustic signature of the listening room and automatically corrects for reflections, resonances and standing waves that colour the sound. The result is a presentation far closer to the original recording, regardless of the room's dimensions or construction. ARC Genesis also incorporates a bass management system supporting one or two subwoofers, configurable for dual-mono or independent left and right channel operation, with seamless blending ensured by the room correction algorithms.
Connectivity and Control
The STR Integrated's rear panel offers XLR balanced analogue inputs alongside four RCA line-level inputs, two optical and two coaxial digital inputs, an asynchronous USB-B DAC input, MM and MC phono inputs, and a network port for ARC Genesis. Outputs include a full-bandwidth RCA stereo pre-out, dual subwoofer outputs, and five-way binding posts sized for large-gauge speaker cable. The large TFT display on the front panel provides clear, room-filling readout of source selection and volume, while the aluminium remote handset provides discrete control of all key functions.
