The AE320 is the flagship of Acoustic Energy's 300 Series — a true three-way floorstander that bridges the gap between the 2.5-way AE309 and the premium 500 Series. Where the AE309 doubles up its mid/bass drivers and rolls one off at low frequencies, the AE320 goes further: a dedicated 130mm midrange driver operates independently in the upper half of the cabinet, while two dedicated 130mm bass drivers handle everything below the 380Hz crossover point. A carefully tuned rear slot port augments the bass output while minimising the air turbulence and chuffing that can plague conventional round ports — the slot geometry reduces jetting effects, allowing closer positioning to rear walls than many ported floorstanders.

With a nominal 8 Ohm impedance and 90dB sensitivity, the AE320 is an easy and rewarding load for a wide range of amplifiers. An impedance correction circuit keeps the minimum impedance above 4.8 Ohms, ensuring stable behaviour even with valve amplifiers.
