The AE107² is Acoustic Energy’s dedicated centre channel speaker from the 100 Series, engineered specifically for home cinema and multi-channel music systems. In any surround sound setup, the centre channel handles the lion’s share of on-screen dialogue, so clarity and articulation through the vocal range are critical — and that is exactly where the AE107² excels. It sits alongside the AE100² bookshelf, AE109² and AE120² floorstanders, AE105 on-wall surrounds, and AE108² subwoofer to form a complete, tonally matched home cinema system.
Driver Configuration
This is a 2-way horizontal-mount design built around twin 130mm paper cone mid/bass drivers and a 25mm soft dome tweeter fitted with Acoustic Energy’s Wide Dispersion Technology (WDT) waveguide. The dual-driver layout, inspired by the premium 500 Series, mounts all three drivers in close proximity for focused, cohesive vocal reproduction. The WDT waveguide improves the diffusion of high frequencies across a wider listening area, ensuring that dialogue remains clear and intelligible regardless of seating position.
Bass Performance
Despite its compact dimensions, the AE107² delivers full-bodied bass from an ultra-high-force long-throw motor system shared across the 100 Series. A rear-mounted reflex-loaded slot port provides a larger cross-sectional area than a conventional round port, reducing air turbulence and distortion for tight, controlled low-frequency output free from port chuffing during demanding soundtrack passages.
Cabinet Construction
The enclosure is built from 15mm HDF (High Density Fibreboard) with curved edges and flush-fitting drivers for a clean, modern aesthetic. The low-profile horizontal form factor sits comfortably on a shelf, inside an AV cabinet, or wall-mounted beneath a screen. A slim magnetic-fit cloth grille attaches without visible fixings, maintaining a seamless appearance whether the grille is on or off.
