Acoustic Energy
Acoustic Energy was established in London in 1987 with the creation of the AE1 loudspeaker, a compact standmount design that redefined what was possible from a small enclosure by delivering dynamics, power, and clarity previously associated only with larger, high-end speakers. The principles laid down with that first product — transparency, tonal accuracy, and musical involvement — have remained at the core of the company's approach ever since.
Every Acoustic Energy loudspeaker design goes through an exhaustive listening process, with electroacoustic measurement used to verify each development step. Prototypes are benchmarked against the company's historical reference designs to ensure that each new model carries the same DNA that has defined the brand for over 35 years. The company is headquartered at Trull Farm in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
Acoustic Energy today produces a range of loudspeakers spanning standmount and floorstanding formats, continuing to participate in major audio exhibitions including the Bristol Hi-Fi Show and the North West Audio Show. The brand is owned and operated by Mat Spandl, James Luce, and Neil Truckell.
