Stella is the fourth studio album by Swiss electronic duo Yello, originally released in 1985. This Music on Vinyl reissue presents the album on 180 gram audiophile black vinyl, with two bonus tracks not featured on the original pressing.
The Album
Recorded at Yello Studio on the shores of Lake Zurich, Stella was crafted using a distinctive array of vintage electronic equipment including the Yamaha DX7, Roland JX-3P, Fairlight CMI Series II sampler, ARP Odyssey synthesiser, Linn LM-1 and Oberheim DMX drum machines, and the Roland VP-330 Vocoder Plus. The album achieved international breakthrough success, driven by the track “Oh Yeah”, which gained worldwide recognition after being prominently featured in the 1986 film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and later in The Secret of My Success.
Bonus Tracks
This reissue includes two bonus tracks: “Oh Yeah (Indian Summer Version)” and “Vicious Games (12″ Mix)”, extending the original tracklist with sought-after alternative versions.
