Originally released in 1988, Flag is the sixth studio album by Swiss electronic duo Yello, comprising Boris Blank and Dieter Meier. The album is best known for the eight-minute centrepiece "The Race," the edited single version of which reached number 7 in the UK Singles Chart. Blending synth-pop with Afro-Cuban rhythmic elements, samples, and Meier's distinctive baritone vocals, Flag remains one of the group's most celebrated records. It peaked at number 3 on the Swiss Albums Chart upon its original release.
This 2012 reissue on Music On Vinyl is pressed on 180-gram audiophile vinyl and was remastered by Kevin Metcalfe at Powerplay Studios. The pressing includes an insert and features nine tracks across two sides, including the CD bonus track "Tied Up in Red" — an extended eight-minute companion piece to the album's opening track "Tied Up."
