Air Motion Transformer Tweeter
The AURA 1 is built around a 27mm by 90mm Air Motion Transformer (AMT) high-frequency driver. Unlike a conventional dome tweeter, the AMT uses a pleated diaphragm to move air with remarkable speed and precision, resulting in treble that is detailed, open and entirely free of the hardness or brightness that can affect lesser designs. The AMT's low moving mass ensures transient accuracy across the entire treble band, reproducing the finest musical details with natural ease.
Glass Fibre Matrix Bass Driver
A 130mm (5-inch) woofer features a Black Glass Fibre Matrix cone chosen for its ideal combination of rigidity and internal damping. The cone resists flexing under high excursion while absorbing unwanted resonances, so bass and lower midrange reproduction remains clean, articulate and controlled. The bass reflex enclosure is tuned to extend low-frequency output to 48Hz, giving the AURA 1 a weight and authority unusual in a compact bookshelf design.
AURA Stand
This package pairs each AURA 1 speaker with a dedicated Wharfedale AURA stand, designed in conjunction with IAG's Director of Acoustic Design, Peter Comeau. The stand's geometry and mass are calculated to minimise cabinet vibration and provide the ideal acoustic platform for the AURA 1. Adjustable floor spikes ensure a stable, level installation on any surface. Supplied as a pair complete with matching stands.
