Lost In Translation is the soundtrack to Sofia Coppola's 2003 film of the same name, a fifteen-track collection assembled to mirror the picture's dreamlike, jet-lagged mood. Much of the album was overseen by Brian Reitzell, working closely with My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields, who contributes several original pieces alongside the film's key needle-drops.
The Music
The running order spans electronic, downtempo, indie rock and post-rock. Kevin Shields appears with "City Girl", "Goodbye", "Ikebana" and "Are You Awake?", while My Bloody Valentine's "Sometimes" and The Jesus And Mary Chain's "Just Like Honey" anchor the record's song-based moments. Phoenix, Air, Squarepusher, Death In Vegas, Sebastien Tellier and Japanese band Happy End round out the line-up.
