Guardians Of The Galaxy: Deluxe Vinyl Edition gathers both halves of the music from the 2014 Marvel Studios film on one double LP. Disc one is Awesome Mix Vol. 1, the twelve song compilation that plays on Peter Quill's cassette through the film. Disc two is the original score by Tyler Bates. Hollywood Records issued the songs album and the score album separately on 29 July 2014 along with a deluxe version carrying both, and this European pressing, catalogue number 005008731088, is that deluxe edition.

Awesome Mix Vol. 1

Director James Gunn built the mixtape from 1960s and 1970s songs held on the Walkman that keeps Quill connected to the Earth, home and family he lost. The running order moves from Blue Swede and Raspberries through David Bowie, the Jackson 5, 10cc, Redbone and The Runaways to Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Every song is heard in the film with the exception of "Spirit In The Sky", which was used in the trailer. The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200, the first soundtrack album made up entirely of previously released songs to top that chart, and it went on to top the Billboard Top Soundtracks chart for eleven consecutive weeks. In the UK it reached number one on the Official Soundtracks Album Chart and number two on the Official Compilation Albums Chart, and it is certified two times Platinum by the BPI.

Disc two holds sixteen cues from the score, among them Morag, The Pod Chase, The Kyln Escape and Guardians United, with Losers included as a bonus track. Gunn asked Bates to write part of the score before shooting so that scenes could be filmed to the music rather than scored afterwards. Bates also produced the score soundtrack; Dave Jordan was music supervisor, and Gunn, Kevin Feige and Jordan are credited as executive soundtrack producers.

Two black records playing at 33 1/3 RPM, housed in a gatefold sleeve. Released on Hollywood Records with Marvel Music and manufactured in the EU.
