Call Me By Your Name (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is issued on At The Movies, the Music On Vinyl imprint dedicated to film and television scores. Luca Guadagnino's 2017 coming-of-age romantic drama, adapted by James Ivory from André Aciman's 2007 novel and set in northern Italy in 1983, is carried by a compilation rather than a single score, and this double LP gathers all seventeen tracks.

The Soundtrack

The album moves between eighties Italian and European pop, piano and chamber repertoire, and three contributions from Sufjan Stevens. Songs come from The Psychedelic Furs, Franco Battiato, Loredana Bertè, Bandolero, Giorgio Moroder with Joe Esposito, and F.R. David, while the instrumental pieces draw on works by John Adams, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Erik Satie, Johann Sebastian Bach and Maurice Ravel. Stevens wrote two original songs for the film, “Mystery of Love” and “Visions of Gideon”, and the record also carries the Doveman remix of his earlier track “Futile Devices”. “Mystery of Love” was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 2018 ceremony; at the 61st Grammy Awards it was nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media, and the soundtrack was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. Luca Guadagnino is credited as soundtrack album producer, with Robin Urdang as music supervisor.

The Pressing

Two 180 gram audiophile black vinyl records are housed in a gatefold sleeve with two printed inner sleeves. A mini-poster and a sheet with exclusive pictures from the film are included. Manufactured in the EU.
