Van Damme Blue Series Studio Grade 0.75mm Speaker Cable (Per Metre)

The Van Damme Blue Series Studio Grade is a twin-axial speaker cable designed for recording studios, rehearsal rooms, live sound, and hi-fi installations. Within the Van Damme range, the Blue Series sits between the entry-level install-grade cables and the Black Series Tour Grade, offering studio-quality construction at a lower price point than the tour-grade products. For critical near-field monitoring applications, Van Damme's UP-LCOFC Hi-Fi range uses linear-crystal oxygen-free copper conductors and sits above the Blue Series in the hierarchy.

Construction

The cable uses bare ultra-pure oxygen-free copper conductors in a twin-axial configuration. The 0.75mm² variant comprises 42 strands of 0.15mm diameter copper per conductor, providing a DC resistance of 24.50Ω/km. Each conductor is individually insulated in PVC (red and blue) for clear polarity identification, and the pair is enclosed in a flexible PVC composite jacket finished in Sapphire Blue (RAL 5003).

Applications

With a 0.75mm² cross-section, this is the smallest gauge in the Blue Series range and is best suited to shorter speaker runs where the higher resistance per metre is not a limiting factor. It is also appropriate for 100V line distributed audio systems commonly found in commercial installations. For longer runs or lower-impedance loudspeakers, the larger cross-sections in the range — 1.50mm², 2.50mm², 4.00mm², and 6.00mm² — offer progressively lower resistance.

Practical Details

The overall diameter of the 0.75mm² cable is 5.60mm, making it easy to route and terminate. The minimum bend radius is 10 times the overall diameter (56mm). The cable is rated for a working voltage of 300/500V. Sold per metre from a 500-metre maximum reel.
