Tony Bennett's Duets II is the follow-up to his acclaimed Duets: An American Classic. Released in 2011, the album pairs Bennett with some of the most celebrated voices in contemporary music for a collection of timeless standards. This Music On Vinyl pressing presents the album across two 180-gram audiophile LPs in a gatefold sleeve.
The Duets
The album opens with a show-stopping rendition of "The Lady Is a Tramp" alongside Lady Gaga, setting the tone for an album that bridges generations. Bennett is joined by Aretha Franklin on "How Do You Keep the Music Playing," Norah Jones on "Speak Low," and Andrea Bocelli on "Stranger in Paradise." Other collaborators include Michael Bublé, John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, Queen Latifah, Josh Groban, Natalie Cole, and k.d. lang.
The album carries particular historical significance: the duet with Amy Winehouse on "Body and Soul" is the last known studio recording by the British singer, captured shortly before her passing in July 2011.
