The City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra - Music From The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy [Brown] (3LP) Vinyl

Howard Shore's score for Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Nic Raine with the Crouch End Festival Chorus. The programme spans all three films, drawing on The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King.

The Programme

Nineteen pieces are spread across six sides. Sides A and B cover The Fellowship of the Ring, taking in "The Fellowship", "The Prophecy", "Concerning Hobbits", "The Bridge of Khazad Dum" and "May It Be". Side C moves into The Two Towers with "The Riders of Rohan", "Evenstar" and "Forth Eorlingas / Isengard Unleashed", while side D carries "Gollum's Song" through to the Return of the King cues "Hope and Memory / Minas Tirith", "The White Tree" and "Twilight and Shadow". Side E closes the narrative with "The Fields of Pelennor" and the sixteen minute "The Return of the King / Finale". Side F collects "Into The West" alongside the vocal versions of "Gollum's Song", "May It Be" and "Into The West".

The Pressing

A three disc set pressed on brown vinyl by GZ Media. The release was issued by Diggers Factory in 2022 under licence from Silva Screen Records, whose original recording dates from 2004.
