SVS

The SVS Ultra Evolution Titan sits at the very top of the Ultra Evolution loudspeaker range — the flagship floorstanding tower from a line-up that also encompasses the Tower, Bookshelf, Center, Elevation, and Nano models. Where the Ultra Evolution Tower offers a compact four-driver architecture, the Titan adds a second pair of 6.5" woofers in a force-balanced opposed array and dual 4.5" midrange drivers in a dedicated acoustic-suspension enclosure, delivering greater low-frequency headroom and a more refined midrange transition in a 3-way design intended for larger listening rooms.

Acoustically Centred Time Alignment Cabinet Architecture

The Titan's cabinet geometry is built around SVS's Acoustically Centred Time Alignment (ACTA) architecture. The curved front baffle aligns the sonic emanation point of all seven drivers on a single vertical plane, ensuring sound from each driver reaches the listener at precisely the same instant. The midrange drivers and woofers are positioned symmetrically above and below the tweeter in rotational symmetry, creating an idealised point-source where low, mid, and high frequencies emanate from the same effective point in space. This geometry introduces microsecond-level time delays between drivers to equalise the effective acoustic centre of each driver's distance to the listener, improving linearity and directionality through the crossover transition frequencies. The chamfered front baffle and flush-mounted drivers further reduce edge diffraction for improved on-axis and off-axis high-frequency response.

Diamond-Coated Aluminium Dome Tweeter

Through a vapour-deposition process, a layer of diamond carbon is grown directly onto the aluminium dome to vastly improve rigidity and acoustic properties. This hyper-rigid diamond-like coating pushes high-frequency extension well beyond the limits of human hearing — delivering a specified response to 40 kHz — while eliminating measurable distortion at the top of the audible range. The diamond coating also extends the tweeter's low-frequency reach deeper, enabling more seamless blending with the midrange at the 1.9 kHz crossover point. An FEA-optimised Organic Cell Lattice diffuser — a semi-random pattern derived from organic cell structures — protects the dome and improves off-axis response to maximise the listening sweet spot. Silver tinsel lead-outs are used for optimal signal transfer and power handling.

Dual 4.5" Glass-Fibre Composite Midrange Drivers

The two midrange drivers use composite glass-fibre cones selected for their high stiffness-to-mass ratio, delivering high sensitivity and pistonic behaviour beyond the passband. Precision-cast aluminium-alloy baskets ensure precise alignment of critical components and maximise thermal dissipation. A vented Kapton voice coil former keeps moving mass to a minimum for excellent dynamics and transient response. Both midrange drivers share a dedicated, acoustically tuned internal enclosure — separate from the woofer chamber — to eliminate potential for cabinet resonances between the frequency bands and ensure pristine midrange performance across the full spectrum.

Quad 6.5" Woofers in Force-Balanced Opposed Array

Four 6.5" composite glass-fibre woofers are arranged in a force-balanced opposed configuration: dual front-firing woofers at top and bottom of the cabinet are mechanically opposed by rear-firing woofers inside the enclosure. The mechanical energy from each front-firing woofer is equalled inside the cabinet by its opposing rear-firing counterpart, cancelling net vibration forces to the cabinet and surrounding structure. The result is deep, authoritative bass that is evenly distributed throughout the listening area with zero mechanical colouration at any playback level. Each woofer employs a long-stroke motor and suspension for high output, a vented aluminium voice coil former for thermal control, and precision-cast aluminium-alloy baskets for component alignment and heat dissipation. Dual 2.5" wide-flared rear-firing ports and dual gold-plated 5-way binding posts complete the bass array.

Cabinet Construction

The cabinet uses FEA-optimised ¾" (18mm) wall construction with extensive internal bracing and acoustic insulation to eliminate acoustic and structural resonances. Extra-thick 1" (25mm) driver baffles provide a rigid, resonance-free mounting platform for all drivers. Separate, acoustically tuned internal chambers for the woofer and midrange arrays further prevent inter-driver resonance. An uncompromising 3-way crossover uses premium-grade capacitors, inductors, and resistors on a heavy-trace PCB; the tweeter-to-midrange crossover is set at 1.9 kHz and the midrange-to-woofer crossover at 160 Hz. Elastomer screw-in feet are included for standard use; spiked metal screw-in feet are also provided for use on hard floors. The cloth grille attaches via a neodymium magnetic retention system. The Black Ash variant uses a real black oak veneer finish.
