The SVS Ultra Evolution Titan is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker positioned in the middle of SVS’s Ultra Evolution range, sitting above the Ultra Evolution Tower and below the flagship Ultra Evolution Pinnacle. Built around SVS’s most advanced driver, cabinet, and crossover technologies, the Titan delivers deep, authoritative bass alongside high-resolution midrange and treble performance suited to both dedicated music listening and high-performance home cinema.
Driver Architecture
The Titan’s driver complement comprises four 6.5″ glass-fibre composite woofers arranged in a force-balanced array, two 4.5″ glass-fibre composite midrange drivers, and a 1″ vapor-deposition diamond-coated aluminium dome tweeter. The four woofers are mounted in opposing pairs, two active drivers on the front baffle and two opposed to them within the enclosure, so that the mechanical forces from each woofer cancel each other out. This force cancellation reduces cabinet vibration and allows the enclosure walls to remain acoustically inert even at high output levels.
The 1″ tweeter uses a vapor-deposition diamond carbon coating applied to an aluminium dome, increasing the dome’s stiffness and moving the first break-up mode far beyond the audible range. The result is extended, low-distortion high-frequency reproduction to 40kHz, resolving the finest spatial and harmonic detail in high-resolution recordings.
Acoustically Centred Time Alignment
SVS’s Acoustically Centred Time Alignment (ACAT) architecture positions all three drive units on a curved front baffle so that the acoustic centres of the tweeter, midrange, and woofer array are aligned on a single vertical plane. Sound from all three frequency bands arrives at the listening position simultaneously, eliminating the phase smearing at crossover points that can blur imaging and reduce transient accuracy in conventional flat-baffle designs.
Crossover Network
The Titan uses a precision 3-way crossover with a woofer-to-midrange handover at 160Hz and a midrange-to-tweeter handover at 1.9kHz. Premium-grade capacitors, inductors, and resistors are used throughout, keeping each driver operating within its optimal bandwidth and minimising intermodulation distortion at crossover boundaries.
Cabinet and Connectivity
The Titan’s cabinet uses ¾″ panel construction with extensive internal bracing. Two 2.5″ rear-firing ports tune the bass-reflex enclosure for low-frequency extension to 27Hz. Separate internal acoustic chambers isolate the woofer and midrange sections to prevent acoustic interference between drivers. The cabinet measures 1,197mm tall (including grille and feet), 249mm wide, and 439.3mm deep, with each speaker weighing 31.6kg. Gold-plated 5-way binding posts support bi-wiring and bi-amping, and a magnetic grille retention system keeps the grille panels flush with the baffle when fitted.
