The SVS SoundPath Ultra Speaker Cable sits at the top of SVS's SoundPath cable range, engineered to connect amplifiers and AV receivers to loudspeakers without introducing signal degradation. Hand-soldered in a dual balanced configuration, the Ultra uses 82 strands of 99.99% pure copper at 14 AWG — a conductor cross-section chosen to minimise resistive losses across longer cable runs. This 1.22m (4ft) length suits very short cable runs where the amplifier and speakers are in close proximity, such as rack-mounted installations.

Construction

Each conductor in the Ultra is made up of 82 individual strands of 99.99% pure stranded copper, arranged in a dual balanced geometry. The high strand count improves flexibility without compromising conductivity, which is a practical advantage during installation. The insulation system uses three layers of PVC dielectric with inner cores measuring 3.2mm and 7.6mm — these concentric layers are designed to reject RFI interference, which can otherwise introduce noise into the audio signal. The finished cable is dressed in a woven cotton braided outer jacket that provides physical protection and a clean, professional appearance when routed through a listening room.

Termination

The banana-terminated version of the SoundPath Ultra uses 24K gold-plated 4mm banana plugs, applied via hand-soldering at each end. Each cable has two conductors — positive and negative — each terminated separately, forming a complete single channel speaker cable.
