It replaces the original SB-2000 with a redesigned 12-inch driver, 10% more amplifier power, and the addition of SVS's smartphone app control — making it the entry point for app-based DSP in the SVS subwoofer range. Above it in the sealed lineup sits the SB-3000, while the PB-2000 Pro offers a ported alternative at the same price point for those who prioritise maximum output over the tighter transient response of a sealed design.

Driver and Motor Assembly

At the core of the SB-2000 Pro is an all-new 12-inch high-excursion driver with an aluminium vented cone, engineered for an exceptional stiffness-to-mass ratio that allows the diaphragm to move large volumes of air without flexing. A long-throw parabolic surround with injection moulding ensures consistent pistonic motion across the full excursion range, while a dual-layer voice coil maintains linearity and minimises distortion at high output levels. The dual ferrite magnet motor assembly weighing over 6.8 kg generates the magnetic force required to drive the cone through its extended excursion stroke with precision and control.

Sledge STA-550D Amplifier

The Sledge STA-550D is a fully discrete Class D amplifier delivering 550 watts RMS continuous power with over 1,500 watts of peak dynamic power on tap. Its high-current output stage is designed to maintain grip on the driver under demanding transient conditions — film explosions, orchestral bass drums, and deep synthesiser passages are reproduced with authority and without compression. The amplifier topology is optimised for the sealed cabinet loading, ensuring that the driver remains under tight electromechanical control at all times.

DSP and App Control

A 50 MHz Analog Devices audio DSP handles all signal processing, providing the computational power for advanced room-correction features accessible through the SVS smartphone app. The app connects via Bluetooth with real-time bi-directional feedback and offers control over volume, a three-band fully parametric equaliser, variable crossover frequency, polarity, and room gain compensation. Three custom presets can be saved and recalled instantly — allowing quick switching between optimised settings for music, film, and gaming without leaving the listening position. The app is compatible with iOS, Android, and Amazon devices.

Cabinet Construction

The sealed enclosure is built from MDF with an extra-thick front baffle and extensive internal bracing to eliminate panel resonance and ensure that all acoustic output comes from the driver rather than the cabinet walls. The sealed alignment delivers the fast, controlled transient response that distinguishes SB-series subwoofers from their ported PB-series counterparts — bass starts and stops precisely, with no port-induced overhang. Custom iso-elastomer isolation feet decouple the cabinet from the floor, reducing structure-borne vibration transfer to the listening room. A removable protective ABS grille is included.
