The SVS 3000 Micro sits at a unique position in the SVS subwoofer range, bringing reference-grade bass performance into an ultra-compact sealed enclosure measuring just 277 x 297 x 272mm. Above it in the lineup are the full-size 3000 Series and 4000 Series models with larger single drivers; below it are the 1000 Pro and 2000 Pro Series. The 3000 Micro bridges these tiers by pairing dual opposing 8-inch drivers with the Sledge STA-800D2 amplifier platform derived from SVS’s flagship 16-Ultra subwoofers, delivering output that belies its 10-inch cabinet footprint.
Dual Opposing Driver Architecture
A first-ever design for SVS, the 3000 Micro mounts two fully active 8-inch drivers on opposite sides of its sealed cabinet, wired electrically and mechanically in parallel. Firing in opposite directions, the mechanical energy transferred to the cabinet is effectively cancelled out, creating a sonically inert platform that eliminates the “walking” or vibration common in compact subwoofers. The combined radiating area of two 8-inch cones delivers output comparable to significantly larger single-driver designs.
Each driver uses a single-piece 1100 aluminium cone and junction for high stiffness with low moving mass and optimised thermal conduction. A high-current 4-layer copper voice coil minimises distortion and power compression, while the oversized vented motor structure with proprietary Y30 ferrite magnets generates the high-flux-density magnetic fields needed for room-filling output with fast transient response. Total excursion per driver is 24mm Xmax and 37mm Xmech, courtesy of proprietary injection-moulded NBR surrounds and composite poly-cotton extreme-linear-excursion spiders designed for sustained reference-level playback.
Sledge STA-800D2 Amplifier
The Sledge STA-800D2 amplifier delivers 800 watts RMS continuous power with 2,500+ watts of peak dynamic power through a high-efficiency Class D topology employing 25-amp, 600-volt discrete MOSFETs. The combination of high-current MOSFET output with Class D efficiency allows the amplifier to generate sustained, controlled output without the thermal constraints that typically limit micro-sized subwoofers.
An onboard 50 MHz Analog Devices audio DSP with double-precision 56-bit filtering provides sophisticated signal processing, including custom frequency response curves optimised for sealed-cabinet room gain characteristics. This DSP engine enables the parametric equalisation, room gain compensation, and tuning presets accessible through the SVS subwoofer app.
App Control & DSP
The SVS subwoofer DSP smartphone app for iOS, Android, and Amazon devices provides full control over crossover frequency, phase, polarity, room gain, and a three-band parametric equaliser. Multiple preset tuning profiles can be saved for different listening scenarios — music, film, gaming — and recalled instantly. The app connects via Bluetooth for convenient adjustment even when the subwoofer is placed out of sight.
The rear panel also features an Intelligent Control Interface (ICI) with a blue LED light-bar display and push-button controls for direct adjustment without the app.
Cabinet & Connectivity
The acoustically optimised sealed cabinet uses extra-thick MDF side baffles with rigid internal bracing to create a resonance-free enclosure. Finished in Piano Gloss Black, the compact form factor at just 277mm high fits discreetly into any room or system.
Connectivity includes stereo RCA line-level inputs and outputs with ultra-wide input voltage compatibility for both consumer and professional audio applications. A 12V trigger input and USB port (for an optional SVS SoundPath wireless audio adapter) complete the rear panel. Input impedance is 16 kΩ unbalanced.
