Couldn't Stand The Weather is the second album by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, reissued by the Dutch audiophile label Music On Vinyl under catalogue number MOVLP190. This Legacy Edition is a double LP pressed on 180 gram black vinyl across two 12 inch records. It is manufactured by Music On Vinyl B.V. for Sony Music Entertainment and made in the EU. The original album was issued on Epic in 1984; Music On Vinyl gives this pressing a release date of 21 June 2019.

The Album

Vaughan recorded it with his Double Trouble bandmates Tommy Shannon on bass and Chris Layton on drums. It carries the hit Cold Shot and Vaughan's reading of Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Chile (Slight Return), alongside the trademark Vaughan instrumentals Scuttle Buttin' and Stang's Swang. Music On Vinyl describes it as the record that confirmed Stevie Ray was no fluke and cemented his status as one of the modern blues giants.

The Legacy Edition

Sides C and D are given over to bonus material: original takes, outtakes and alternate takes of songs from the posthumously released The Sky Is Crying. Nineteen tracks run across the four sides in total.

Pressing and Packaging

Both records are pressed on 180 gram black vinyl. The sleeve reproduces the original 1984 Epic artwork, with the Music On Vinyl logo carried on the rear sleeve and on the record labels.
