Home Invasion: In Concert at the Royal Albert Hall captures Steven Wilson at the height of his powers, filmed during his 2018 To The Bone world tour. Wilson, described by The Telegraph as “the most successful British musician most people have never heard of”, is the founder and frontman of Porcupine Tree, a Grammy-nominated solo artist, and one of rock music’s most visionary and prolific writers and producers.
The Concert
The film was captured on the third and final night of Wilson’s three-night sold-out residency at the Royal Albert Hall, London, in March 2018, concerts which were hailed by media and fans alike as among the very best shows of the year. The performance draws from across Wilson’s career, presenting material from Porcupine Tree, Blackfield, and his solo albums in a cinematic multi-media show complete with elaborate stage visuals.
A Cinematic Multi-Media Production
Home Invasion is far more than a straight live recording. The concerts were conceived as a full audio-visual experience, incorporating quadraphonic sound and immersive visual projections designed to enhance the emotional and narrative impact of the music. Directed by James Russell and produced by Andy Derbyshire, the film realises this vision for home viewing while preserving the atmosphere of the original performances.
The 4K Ultra HD Edition
Originally released on Blu-ray and DVD by Eagle Rock in November 2018, Home Invasion was re-released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray in February 2025 by Mercury Studios, presenting the concert film in its highest definition yet with a 4K HDR transfer.
