This is the official Italian-region 4K Ultra HD release of Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi, distributed by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment Italia. The packaging artwork and on-disc menus are presented in Italian (under the local title Gli Ultimi Jedi), but the disc retains the original English-language soundtrack alongside additional European-language audio, making it a perfectly viable choice for English-speaking buyers who simply want the film in 4K HDR.
Italian-Release Packaging
The keep case carries the Italian title Gli Ultimi Jedi on the front and spine, with the standardised Lucasfilm "Linea" red-and-black artwork used across the Italian Star Wars 4K range. The slipcase indicia are in Italian, including the on-disc menu language. This is not a UK or US edition repackaged for the Italian market; it is a separately authored European release.
Disc Configuration
The set contains three discs: a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray of the feature film, a standard Blu-ray of the feature, and a separate Blu-ray bonus disc (marked "Disco Bonus" on the case) containing supplementary material. The 4K disc is presented with HDR10 high dynamic range, encoded with HEVC / H.265 at native 4K (2160p) resolution and a 2.39:1 aspect ratio.
Audio and Subtitles
The 4K Ultra HD disc carries an English Dolby Atmos soundtrack (Dolby TrueHD 7.1 compatible core), plus French, Italian and German Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 dubs. Subtitles are provided in Italian, English SDH, French, German, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish, so English viewers can watch the film in its original audio with English (SDH) subtitles if required.
Region Coding
The 4K Ultra HD disc is region free and will play in any Ultra HD Blu-ray player worldwide. The accompanying standard Blu-ray discs are encoded for Region B (Europe, Africa, Australasia and the Middle East); regions A and C have not been tested by Blu-ray.com.
Important Note for UK Buyers
Because this is the Italian retail edition, on-pack text, marketing copy and the printed inserts are in Italian. The film itself plays back in English exactly as on the UK release. If you specifically want UK packaging, this is not the right edition. For collectors who don't mind Italian box art, this is an excellent way to add The Last Jedi to a 4K library.
