Sabrina Carpenter - Man's Best Friend [Gatefold, Opaque Light Blue] (LP) Vinyl

Man's Best Friend is the seventh studio album by American singer Sabrina Carpenter, released on 29 August 2025 through Island Records. It arrived less than a year after Short n' Sweet and marked her debut as a record producer, co-producing every track on the record.

The Music

Carpenter narrowed her circle for this album, writing and recording with only three previous collaborators: songwriter Amy Allen and producers Jack Antonoff and John Ryan. She has said the process "felt like a band", with she and Allen working up melodies and lyrics on long walks while Antonoff and Ryan built the arrangements around them. The result is primarily a pop and soft rock record that blends retro-inspired styles, drawing critical comparisons to ABBA and to Fleetwood Mac's Tusk. The production is eclectic, taking in clavinet, sitar and agogo, and the lyrics are snarky and witty throughout.

Lead single "Manchild" reached number one in the United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States ahead of the album. "Tears" followed as the second single on release day, with "When Did You Get Hot?" in January 2026 and "House Tour" in April 2026. Twelve tracks run to 38 minutes and 20 seconds.

Chart Performance

Man's Best Friend topped the album charts in more than ten countries, among them the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland and Spain. In the UK it gave Carpenter the biggest album debut by an international artist of 2025, selling over 85,500 units in its first week, and it has since been certified Platinum by the BPI. In the United States it entered the Billboard 200 at number one on more than 366,000 album equivalent units, of which 224,000 were pure sales. The album and its songs went on to collect six nominations at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
