X-Tube Technology
The defining feature of the Silver Anniversary XT is QED’s X-Tube construction. At high frequencies, conventional cables suffer from the skin effect, where current concentrates near the conductor surface rather than flowing uniformly across the full cross-section. X-Tube addresses this with a polycore geometry that maintains near-linear signal transfer at elevated frequencies, preserving detail and timing accuracy that standard cable geometries compromise.
Conductor & Insulation
The cable uses silver-plated 99.999% oxygen-free copper conductors in a unique SPOFC triple braid configuration of 5 × 16 × 0.1 mm strands. The silver plating improves high-frequency conductivity, while the high-purity OFC base ensures low resistance across the audio band. A high-performance low-density polyethylene dielectric minimises signal energy loss from cable capacitance, reducing dielectric absorption and signal smearing.
Practical Considerations
Silver Anniversary XT is sold unterminated by the metre, allowing custom cable runs to be cut to the exact length required for any installation.
