QED QX16/4 Professional 4-Core Speaker Cable White PVC (300m Reel)

The QED QX16/4 is a professional-grade 4-core speaker cable from QED’s installation range, designed for multi-room and home cinema speaker wiring where flame retardant PVC sheathing is acceptable. It sits alongside the QX16/2 (2-core) variant in the QX16 series, which is also available in LSZH (low smoke zero halogen) and PE (outdoor/buriable) jacket options for installations with more stringent cable specification requirements.

Construction

Each of the four conductors is built from 30 strands of 0.26mm high-purity copper wire, giving an AWG 16 gauge cross-section of 1.5mm² per core. The four cores are colour-coded with red, black, white, and green insulation sheaths for straightforward identification during installation. The outer jacket is a white flame retardant PVC rated to meet and exceed IEC 60332-1, with an overall outside diameter of 7.20mm.

Performance

The large cross-sectional area of the copper conductors ensures low resistance at 13.3 Ω/km, maintaining consistent signal delivery even on longer cable runs typical of multi-room and commercial installations. The cable is rated for a dielectric strength of 600kV AC.

Installation Features

The cable is supplied on a 300m reel and features sequential metre marking that counts down, allowing installers to track remaining cable length at a glance. The 4-core configuration supports bi-wiring of a single speaker run or parallel wiring of two speaker zones from a single cable pull.

Compliance

The QX16/4 PVC is fully RoHS2 compliant. Its flame retardant design meets and exceeds IEC 60332-1 testing requirements. Full test reports are available from QED upon request.
