The QED Performance MP-SW Mini Subwoofer cable sits within QED's Performance range — above the entry-level Connect series and below the Reference 40 line. Where the full-size Performance Subwoofer cable uses a standard-diameter construction, the MP-SW takes the same core engineering and packages it in a 2.5mm-diameter jacket, making it small enough to run under carpets, along skirting boards, or through tight cable runs where a conventional subwoofer interconnect would be too bulky.

Construction

The MP-SW uses a co-axial geometry with 99.999% oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors for low resistance and high signal purity. A foamed low-density polyethylene dielectric separates the conductor from the screen, chosen for its low dielectric absorption compared to solid plastic insulation. Dual screening combines an aluminium Mylar foil wrap with a 99.999% OFC braid, providing comprehensive electromagnetic shielding against interference — particularly important for the low-level signals carried by subwoofer interconnects.

Connectors

Each end is terminated with QED's Qontour 24ct gold-plated RCA phono plugs. The gold plating prevents tarnishing and maintains consistently low contact resistance over time, while the close-tolerance machining ensures a secure, reliable connection.
