QED Performance Audio Graphite RCA Interconnect (3m Pair)

The QED Performance Audio Graphite is the entry point to QED's Performance range of analogue interconnect cables, applying design concepts drawn from the higher-end Reference range to a more accessible price point. Designed to connect source components — CD players, DACs, turntables, or tuners — to amplifiers or AV receivers, it is sold as a stereo pair and is available in four lengths: 0.6m, 1m, 3m, and 5m.

Construction

The Performance Audio Graphite uses a quasi-balanced twisted pair geometry, a configuration that helps reject common-mode interference induced along the cable's length. The conductors are 99.999% oxygen-free copper (OFC), a high-purity specification chosen to minimise the micro-crystalline grain boundaries that can impede signal transmission in standard copper. The dielectric surrounding the conductors is low-density polyethylene (LDPE), selected for its low dielectric absorption, which helps preserve fine low-level detail in the signal.

Shielding

An aluminium/Mylar wrap provides a 100% electrostatic shield around the conductor assembly. The shield is completed by an OFC drain wire connected at the source end only, as indicated by the directional arrows on the cable jacket.

Connectors

Each cable is terminated with QED's proprietary 6-leaf RCA plugs. The contact design uses six spring leaves to maintain consistent pressure against the socket centre pin, ensuring a gas-tight connection that resists oxidation over time. The plugs feature 24k gold plating for reliable, low-resistance contact, and an ergonomically sculptured zinc-plated alloy barrel for a secure grip during connection and removal.
