The QED Connect USB C(M)-A(F) is part of QED's Connect range — the brand's entry-level cable line designed to deliver reliable everyday connectivity at an accessible price point. This particular cable serves as an adapter lead, enabling any existing USB-A cable or charger to connect to a device fitted with a USB-C port. It sits below QED's Performance USB range and is intended for standard data transfer and charging applications where budget is the primary consideration.
Construction
The conductors are drawn from 99.99% oxygen-free copper, chosen for its low resistivity and freedom from the signal-degrading impurities found in standard copper. Each conductor is insulated and the assembly is finished in a satin black PVC jacket with a 4.0mm outer diameter, kept deliberately slim and flexible for use in tight spaces or alongside portable devices. Both connectors — USB-C male at one end and USB-A female at the other — are gold-plated to 24K, providing corrosion resistance for long-term reliability at the contact points.
Compatibility
The cable is rated for USB 2.0, supporting data transfer and device charging for smartphones, tablets, digital audio players, and DAC-equipped portable devices that use USB-C as their primary port. The USB-A female termination accepts any standard USB-A cable, effectively converting an existing USB-A lead for use with USB-C devices. It is not rated for USB 3.x data rates or USB Power Delivery at high wattages.
