The QED Connect HDMI Cable sits at the entry point of QED's cable range, designed to deliver a reliable, high-quality digital connection between source components and displays at a price point that makes upgrading from a bundled cable a straightforward decision. QED is a British cable manufacturer with over 50 years of experience, and the Connect series applies that expertise to an affordable tier without cutting corners on the fundamentals.
Construction & Materials
The Connect HDMI uses 99.99% oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors, which provide lower resistance and better signal transfer than the copper-clad steel or aluminium conductors found in many budget cables. The dielectric is QED's FMPE+skin (foamed metallised polyethylene with a skin layer), chosen for its low-loss signal-carrying properties. The cable is finished in a satin black PVC jacket with a slim 4.8mm outer diameter, making it flexible enough to route neatly behind equipment racks and along skirting boards without adding bulk.
Connectors are 24K gold-plated, providing corrosion-resistant contact surfaces for long-term reliability. The slim plug housing is designed to fit comfortably alongside other connections on densely populated rear panels.
Performance & Compatibility
The Connect HDMI is fully compliant with the HDMI 2.0 specification, supporting a maximum data rate of 18 Gb/s. This enables 4K video at up to 60Hz, HDR pass-through, and multi-channel audio formats including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. An integrated Ethernet channel provides network connectivity between compatible devices, and the cable supports 3D video and Audio Return Channel (ARC).
This makes the Connect HDMI suitable for connecting Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, gaming consoles, and AV receivers to 4K televisions and projectors. For higher-bandwidth applications such as 4K at 120Hz or 8K, QED's Performance and Reference HDMI ranges offer the additional headroom required.
QED Lifetime Guarantee
