The QED Connect HDMI Cable is the entry point in QED's HDMI range, designed to provide a reliable, high-quality digital connection for typical home AV setups. QED is a British cable manufacturer with over 50 years of experience in the specialist cable market, and the Connect series applies that expertise to an affordable tier that covers the majority of 4K source-to-display applications.
Construction & Materials
The Connect HDMI uses 99.99% oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors, which eliminate the corrosion-related signal degradation associated with lower-grade conductors. The dielectric material is QED's FMPE+skin — foamed metallised polyethylene with a skin layer — chosen for its low-loss signal-carrying characteristics and improved signal integrity. The cable is finished in a satin black PVC jacket with a 4.8mm outer diameter, making it flexible enough to route neatly behind equipment without adding unnecessary bulk.
The 24K gold-plated connectors provide long-term corrosion resistance at the contact surfaces and a secure, reliable fit. The slim plug housing is sized to sit comfortably alongside adjacent connections on densely populated rear panels.
Performance & Compatibility
The Connect HDMI is fully compliant with the HDMI 2.0 specification and supports a maximum data rate of 18 Gb/s. The cable also carries a High Speed with Ethernet certification, enabling HDMI Ethernet Channel connectivity between compatible devices.
The cable is well suited to connecting Blu-ray players, streaming boxes, set-top boxes, gaming consoles, and AV receivers to 4K televisions and projectors. Where higher bandwidth is required — for example, 4K at 120Hz or 8K — QED's Performance and Reference HDMI ranges offer the additional specification headroom.
