The QED Connect 3.5mm Headphone Extension Cable sits within QED's Connect range — a family of affordable, well-engineered cables and adaptors designed for everyday home and portable use. The Connect range occupies the entry point in QED's cable hierarchy, sitting below the Performance and Reference series, but still benefits from QED's core engineering principles: oxygen-free copper conductors and gold-plated connectors throughout.
Construction
The cable uses 99.99% oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors to minimise signal degradation over the cable's length. Connectors are 24K gold-plated for reliable, corrosion-resistant contact. The dielectric is HDPE (high-density polyethylene), chosen for its low signal absorption characteristics.
The outer jacket is a satin black PVC with a 4mm outside diameter, providing a slim, ultra-flexible cable that routes easily alongside portable devices without adding bulk. QED's custom-moulded connectors include a channel identifier for quick orientation.
Stepped Plug Design
The 3.5mm jack plug features QED's stepped design, which tapers the plug housing to fit through most mobile phone cases without needing to remove the case first. This is a practical consideration for portable use where the cable will frequently be connected and disconnected from cased smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
Packaging
The Connect range uses minimal, fully biodegradable packaging materials.
