Originally designed as an integral part of the Concept 300 loudspeaker system, these stands are now available with a universal adapter plate that allows them to be used with standmount and bookshelf speakers from other manufacturers, bringing the same vibration-reducing engineering to a wider range of loudspeakers.

Tensegrity Construction

The stands employ a tensegrity structure — a self-supporting framework in which rigid elements (aluminium rods) are held in compression while thin stainless-steel cables provide tension. Because each element is only ever in compression or tension and never subjected to bending force, the resulting tripod form has an exceptionally low surface area. This minimises the stand’s ability to radiate sound or create reflections, allowing the speaker’s output to reach the listener with less colouration.

Isolation Base Suspension System

The Tensegrity design was developed alongside Q Acoustics’ Isolation Base suspension system. On the Concept 300 loudspeaker, this system uses four springs damped with Sylodamp™ — a polyurethane elastomer that converts vibrational energy into heat — to decouple the speaker cabinet from the stand. The result is a more controlled, extended bass response and improved stereo imaging. The universal adapter plate version of the stand preserves the tensegrity tripod’s inherent vibration-reducing properties for use with third-party speakers.

This version of the Tensegrity stand ships with a universal adapter top-plate, enabling it to support standmount speakers from other brands.
