Driver Configuration & Performance
The QI65CP employs a two-way driver arrangement with a 165mm woofer and a 25mm swivel tweeter. The swivel mechanism allows the tweeter to be angled toward the listening position after installation, improving high-frequency dispersion in off-axis seating areas. A three-position HF switch on the crossover provides ±3dB adjustment to the treble response, enabling fine-tuning to suit the room acoustics and personal preference.
Sensitivity is rated at 90 dB SPL (2.83V at 1m) with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, making the QI65CP easy to drive from a wide range of amplifiers. Power handling spans 15–80W programme, and the low-frequency response extends down to 70 Hz at the −3dB point.
Installation
The speaker is designed for flush ceiling mounting through a 203mm cutout. Four front-operated clamps secure the chassis from above, requiring access only from below during installation. A cutting template is included. The maximum rear depth behind the ceiling is 79mm, which should be confirmed against the available cavity space before purchase. Push-open spring-loaded speaker terminals accept bare wire for quick one-handed connection.
The circular magnetic grille attaches without visible fixings and measures 232mm in diameter. Both the grille and the speaker chassis use flame-retardant materials. The chassis is also moisture-resistant, making the QI65CP suitable for installation in kitchens and bathrooms where humidity levels are elevated.
