Wireless Active Bookshelf Speakers with BMR Technology
The Q Acoustics Q Active 200 is a fully integrated wireless active bookshelf speaker system that eliminates the need for a separate amplifier. Each speaker contains its own 100W Class D amplifier (280W peak), driving a pair of 58mm Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) full-range drivers in an offset configuration alongside a 114mm rear-firing high-excursion subwoofer. The result is a panoramic stereo image with an exceptionally wide listening sweet spot — accurate stereo reproduction well beyond the traditional axis between the two speakers.
Proprietary DART Cabinet Bracing
Q Acoustics' DART (Damped and Reinforced Technique) cabinet bracing system stiffens the enclosure walls and damps standing waves, eliminating the internal resonances that colour the sound of conventional speaker cabinets. The reflex-ported design works in combination with the rear-firing subwoofer to extend bass response to 46Hz, delivering controlled, articulate low-frequency performance from a compact bookshelf enclosure. An EQ switch on the rear of each speaker allows optimisation for corner, wall, or free-space placement.
Lossless Wireless Link to the Control Hub
The Q Active 200 connects to its dedicated Control Hub via a proprietary 5.8GHz wireless link running at 96kHz/24-bit — fully lossless and transparent. The hub supports source resolutions up to 32-bit/192kHz, meaning high-resolution audio files are handled without compromise from source to amplifier stage. The hub and speakers pair automatically; no manual configuration is required beyond positioning.
Comprehensive Streaming and Wired Connectivity
The Control Hub provides streaming via Google Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and Roon. Voice control is supported through Google Assistant and Apple Siri. For wired sources, the hub offers a TOSLINK digital optical input (96kHz/24-bit), HDMI ARC (96kHz/16-bit, 2-channel), analogue line level (300mV/18kΩ), and a Moving Magnet phono stage (2.6mV/47kΩ, RIAA equalised) for direct turntable connection. A dedicated subwoofer output (1.20V, 0–300Hz) allows integration with a powered subwoofer. Bluetooth 4.2 is also available on the hub for direct pairing with mobile sources.
Optional Floor Stands
The Q Active 200 is optimised for use with Q Acoustics' own FS50 or FS75 dedicated floor stands, which position the BMR drivers at an ideal listening height. Optional stands are available separately from Quantum AV.
