The Q Acoustics M20 HD Wireless Music System sits at the heart of Q Acoustics’ active speaker lineup, positioned above the wireless Q Active range as a compact, versatile all-in-one system. It consists of a powered speaker housing twin Class-D amplifiers and all connectivity, paired with a passive companion speaker, delivering a complete, high-resolution stereo system with no external amplifier required.

Amplification and Power

Each channel is driven by a dedicated Class-D amplifier rated at 65W peak (32W continuous) per channel. The powered speaker contains both amplifier channels along with the signal processing hardware; the passive speaker connects via the supplied speaker cable.

Driver Design and Cabinet

Both speakers are built around a 125mm mid/bass driver and a 22mm high-frequency driver. The tweeter is mechanically decoupled from the cabinet to minimise the transmission of cabinet-borne vibration into the drive unit, contributing to a wide and even stereo dispersion. The two-way reflex-ported cabinet employs Q Acoustics’ P2P™ (Point to Point) internal bracing, a technique that ties opposing cabinet panels together at specific points to eliminate resonance and reduce colouration. Frequency response extends from 55 Hz to 22 kHz, with a crossover point at 2.4 kHz.

Connectivity

The powered speaker provides a comprehensive array of inputs accessible from the rear panel: Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX™ HD support (streaming up to 24-bit/48 kHz), a USB Type-B input (supporting up to 24-bit/192 kHz from a computer), a digital optical input (24-bit/192 kHz), a stereo RCA analogue input, and a 3.5 mm line-level input. A dedicated subwoofer output is also provided for systems where additional bass extension is required. Input selection is managed via buttons on the rear panel or the supplied remote handset.

DSP and Placement

A built-in Digital Signal Processor (DSP) provides a boundary EQ function, allowing the system’s bass response to be adjusted for corner, wall, or free-space placement, a practical consideration for systems used in varied room layouts.

Remote Control

The included remote handset gives direct input selection (Bluetooth, Optical, Analogue, USB), volume, mute, and playback transport control, allowing full operation from listening position without needing to access the rear panel.
