Q Acoustics E300A + Qi 65C In-Ceiling Speaker System

The Q Acoustics E300A + Qi 65C In-Ceiling Speaker System brings together Q Acoustics' ceiling-mounted smart amplifier and a pair of 6.5-inch in-ceiling speakers in a single package, delivering a complete installed audio solution for kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. Within Q Acoustics' install range, the E300A sits above the entry-level E120, offering substantially more power, built-in Amazon Alexa voice control with three far-field microphones, and broader streaming platform support.

E300A Amplifier

The E300A is a Wi-Fi-enabled, ceiling-mounted Class D amplifier delivering 2 x 25W of continuous power at 6 ohms, with a peak output of 2 x 50W. It is designed to drive two or four Q Acoustics in-ceiling or in-wall speakers. The unit supports Amazon Music, Apple AirPlay 2, TIDAL Connect and Spotify Connect, alongside Bluetooth 5.2 (A2DP) for direct wireless streaming from mobile devices. A wired Ethernet connection is also available for more stable network performance.

Physical inputs include a 3.5mm stereo analogue jack (350mV sensitivity, 750mV maximum) and a mini TOSLINK optical digital input supporting up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution, making it straightforward to connect a television or other source component. The amplifier carries a 60-minute fire-resistance certification to BS EN 1365-2 and BS EN 1363-1 standards, maintaining the ceiling's fire barrier without the need for a separate fire hood.

An LED light ring with an ambient light sensor provides visual feedback, and the included remote handset offers control without the need for voice commands. The system ships with two 4-metre speaker cables, a UK power cord, cutout template, optical adapter and speaker plugs.

Qi 65C In-Ceiling Speakers

The Qi 65C is a 6.5-inch coaxial two-way in-ceiling speaker with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and a sensitivity of 89dB SPL (2.83V at 1m). It handles between 15W and 60W of programme material, with a low-frequency response extending to 75Hz (-3dB). A 0.75-inch (19mm) swivel tweeter allows the high-frequency output to be directed towards the listening position, and a crossover-mounted switch provides ±3dB of HF adjustment to fine-tune the treble balance to suit the room.

The speakers feature a magnetic bezel and grille system that clips into place for a clean, flush-mount appearance, with both circular and square grille options included. Construction uses UL94 flame-retardant materials and moisture-proof design rated to IPX4, making them suitable for bathrooms and wet rooms. The cutout diameter is 203mm, with a maximum rear depth of less than 79mm, keeping the installation profile compact.

Installation

The E300A and Qi 65C speakers are designed for new builds, renovations and extensions where a clutter-free audio system is required. The amplifier and speakers mount entirely within the ceiling void, leaving no visible equipment in the room beyond the speaker grilles. The system is compatible with 6–8 ohm passive speakers from Q Acoustics' install range, and the E300A can drive up to four speakers from a single unit.
